Cosmos is a blockchain project that seeks to create an interconnected network of blockchains called the “Cosmos Hub”. In the Cosmos network, different blockchains can communicate with one another and send data and tokens between them. This is made possible through the use of a blockchain protocol called Tendermint, which uses a consensus algorithm called Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance (PBFT). This algorithm allows for high transaction throughput and scalability, thus enabling the Cosmos Hub to become a hub of various types of blockchains.
The main goal of the Cosmos project is to make it easier for developers to create and use blockchains. By providing a set of tools and protocols, developers can create their own chains and connect them to the Cosmos Hub. Through this connection, they can benefit from the features of the Cosmos Hub, such as interoperability and scalability. In addition to this, the Cosmos Hub also provides a platform for users to securely and easily transfer value between different blockchains.
