Zilliqa is a public, open source blockchain platform designed to facilitate the development of high-throughput, secure and decentralized applications. It is built on a novel consensus mechanism called Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance (PBFT) and is powered by a native cryptocurrency called ZIL. It is the first public blockchain platform to employ sharding, a technique that increases network throughput and scalability.
Zilliqa is a blockchain platform that seeks to solve the scalability problem of existing blockchains by using sharding technology. Sharding enables the blockchain to process multiple transactions in parallel, thus allowing it to achieve higher throughput and scalability. This allows Zilliqa to process thousands of transactions per second, while maintaining a high level of security.
The Zilliqa platform is powered by a native cryptocurrency called ZIL. ZIL is used to pay transaction fees and rewards miners who contribute to the network. ZIL is an ERC-20 token and can be stored on any ERC-20 compatible wallet.
